Hey ladies.  Hopefully you all saw the half sheet on your doors this morning.  It should look similar to the one above.  Today is national coming out day and I wanted to take some time to share some information with you guys.  Did you know that the rainbow flag, the great symbol of the LGBTQ community, has more meaning to it than you might think?  All the colors in the flag stand for something.  The picture below is a great reference.

This is the current 6 color version of the flag and the meaning of its colors.  But notice that I said current.  The flag did not always look like this.  There use to be two other versions of this flag.  The link below can give you more helpful information about all three rainbow flags.

This was not the only flag on your sheets though.  During my research, I was surprised to find that there are dozens of other flags out there.  One for each group with in the LGBTQ community.  The links below are great websites to go to to find our more about the flags meaning and how it originated.

Well I hope we got a chance to learn something about our LGBTQ friends.  It is amazing how far the community has come, and that they now have a national holiday in support of them.  However, many people in the LGBTQ community still face many adversities and trials.  But if we keep supporting them, one day no one in the LGBTQ community will have to live in fear or secrecy.  Lets all try to do our part.

HAPPY NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY TO ALL 🙂
