With march being the month that Earth Day is in, there is a new board up on the wing. The RA decided that the residents needed a board to celebrate earth day.
The handprints are in shades of blue and green and say ways to celebrate the earth and ways to help better the earth.
Some Earth facts for you;
the earth is gradually slowing
the earth is the densest planet in the solar system
earth is the only planet not named after a god
I made this board to show residents that there are some really cool jobs out there that are in the environment. Some are even going on in big cities! I wanted to educate them on the importance of green jobs and how they help not only the government but the environment.
We had another successful swap shop event. Thank you to everyone who came, and to the people who brought things. We had a big hall to sort through, even at the end of the night. We are planning to donate the rest of the item to Goodwill, or Family Advocates.
You can do this with friends and family back home. Its a great alternative to throwing items in landfills, and its a great way to get free stuff.
Have you ever been cleaning out old clothes in your closet and wondered what to do with them? Well don’t throw them out! Not only is clothing waste bad for the environment, but there are also dozens of other things you can do to recycle and reuse old clothes. Check out this new board in the lobby for all the tips and tricks.
You know what they say. April showers bring May flowers. If you plant your seeds now, by May they should have started to grow. Having plants in your room can be a great stress reliever and help to produce clean oxygen as well. So enjoy 🙂
Hey everyone. I want to say thanks to everyone who came to the swap shop or brought down their belongings. It was a great night, and everyone left with great stuff. We may do this again next semester 🙂
In the spirit of national flower day, which is this Saturday, I wanted to give out these cute door decs. Also, check out the links below on the health and environmental benefits of having house plants.
